Bold prints, too much?

Is there such thing as too many prints in a home? Each room has a different print as the "inspiration" or fun pop. My sister thinks I've gone overboard by doing so, but to me it makes each room unique and I like each room to have its own personality - I'm not much of a monotone type of gal.

So, what do you think? Can a home have too many prints? Am I trying too hard with this?

The prints in the photos aren't at all overwhelming - and they strike me as consistent in style and scale. I'm not much of a pattern person and even I think you could go with some more.

Thank you, katearoni! I'll stop listening to my sister and keep picking pieces that I like.

It's hard not to start second-guessing yourself when you hear negative feedback... I appreciate the second opinion!

Would consider playing with scale. You don't want all of the pieces to have a large scale geometric pattern. Try to bring in a few florals at a small scale and it will compliment the other pieces. Also maybe try some solids with textures. Its all about have a balance.

I have to echo the other comments - your sister's house must be awfully boring. Have you considered using some stronger colors - perhaps on the walls - for some added punch? My impression is really quite the opposite of your sister's...I think you could use some more punch not less.

Not everyone likes geometric prints (I'm one) so when you said each room was unique I braced myself for crazy wallpaper, graphic bedding, etc. Your rooms are low on the graphic guage, but just be sure that there is a connection/common thread in the room and work with pattern and scale. For instance, the throw on your bed doesn't have any connection to the pillows. Perhaps also adding a solid red (or rust?) pillow would have helped. Good luck and have fun.

Ditto - I don't think this is too much but I think you are a little close to mixing prints that are too similar in scale. There are lots of articles in the "stories" about how to mix prints successfully. I could go for changing the throw and small pillow on the bed.

Great feedback. I agree-think you could kick it up w no problem. One thing that doesn't do it for me is the wide geometric wall stripe with the large simple floral. You can do more here (the colors are great) but those patterns don't jive. Maybe something smaller and busier for the curtain? Maybe keep it geometric as opposed to organic?

Thank you so much for all of the comments! The drapes in the bedroom are rust colored like the blanket (but you can't see those). I like the idea of a more busy shower curtain in the bathroom. Also love the idea of playing with textures.

Thank you everyone for your help - once we get more pieces I'll submit and updated picture. I'll also politely ask my sister to keep her ideas to herself
