Nana, here are some sample uploads.

I thought I'd try to upload the same image saved in different formats. I think the Holiday Forum relies almost exclusively on images, so we need to get this down.

I noticed that the first time I tried to upload an image, it did not "take", but when immediately repeated, it appeared so that I could insert it in a post.

May be my error or my computer. Just don't know.

This is a pic saved as a gif file.

This was saved as a jpg.

I was unable to upload a pdf, pct, or a png.

Now, I have NO IDEA what I'm doing. I don't know if it was my error or the site simply doesn't allow uploads of the last three sorts.

Maybe someone else can try and add a pdf, pct, or png to this post.

Anyway, hope this helps someone.

Oh, one more thing. I have never been able to "Drag and Drop" a photo from my computer to the space provided when you click on the Photo Button. I can only upload using the Browse Button. Is anyone else having this problem?

I am so computer illiterate maybe I can bookmark some images and send them from there.

I didn't have a problem using eye-fi on the old format. Garden Web converted the info to photos automatically. If I post pictures on facebook the numbers come up along with a thumbnail that you can click on to enlarge the photo. this makes my head hurt!!! lol

Oops I forgot to mention that all 3 pictures worked

OA, I never have been able to "drag and drop" at any time on a site from my pictures. I have to use the Browse button, which is easy enough.

As for format, I always save stuff in jpg. If it comes in another format, I go to my "Paint" and get it changed and saved jpg to my files. So whenever I post photos on any site, they are always in that format.

I DO like the new addition here by Houzz of the "Like" and "Bookmark" buttons below each post. Those are really nice to have.

Good to know, Karen. I can drag and drop pictures to my Photobucket folders so it surprised me that it won't work with this site.

As I said before, this is all so new that I'm not sure if these little glitches are my fault or the site's. That's why I'm posting what I can't accomplish as well as what I can. If no one else can drag and drop, then we can tell the site administrator and have her/him look into it.

I pretty much always save my images as jpg too, so that's not a problem for me either.

After I read your comment above, I went to your Inspiration Pictures reminder Post and bookmarked it (I didn't know what you were referring to when I first read it.) Now that I've done that, what or where do I look to find my bookmarked posts?

OA, in the top righthand corner it says Your Houzz. Click on it, your home page comes up and you'll see Bookmarks. Click on it and you'll find the discussions here you've bookmarked.

I'm learning the new stuff here ok so far. I do like being able to bookmark posts instead of having to hunt them up like in the past.

Just one more comment and I think we can put this post to rest.

I think the reason that the Drag and Drop action didn't work for me at first was because I was impatient. When you drag and drop an image in Photobucket, you see an indication bar and you know that the image won't show up until the bar is completely filled in. There is no indication bar when you upload an image to the Forum, so I guess I just thought that it should be instant. At any rate, give it time. It will eventually show up.

Drag & drop works from my IPad, that's a relief.
