Siam Red Showing It Is Still Awake...

Hello Everyone!!!

I just wanted to post a pic of Siam Red that opened in my greenhouse. This inflo has been on my tree since this summer and already bloomed, but I left it on and it decided to bless me with another flower... It isn't the true deep coloration that it normally would be in the summer with the heat and humidity, but it sure is pretty to me in this cold month of February. I guess it's natures way of saying " Happy Valentine's Day"

Have a wonderful day and keep thinking spring!! It's close and I can feel the sun trying to warm things up. My trees are budding and I see some Cherry trees already blooming.. I love seeing nature wake from the long winter...

Bill had mentioned his never really dropped any leaves and are looking great. I think he had a couple that were dormant , but most are going strong. I'm sure your trees will bounce back fast with your great temps.. So many of you in southern Cali had a mild winter... I'll have to post a pic for you later of a place I was in a few days ago.. Tons of snow.. Ugh!!

Enjoy your early season, Wendi!! You are so lucky!!!

    Have a wonderful night!!

Beautiful flower! I got curious to see just how cold it could be in Virginia Beach at this time of the year, and I was astounded! My weather site says you're still having lows in the TEENS.. I'm only in 9b, and we shouldn't have anything below the low 50's at this time of the year. Highs are already in the upper 60's. Winter is technically over here.

It is cold here!! That is true.. Brrr.. My trees are all inside resting and some are in my greenhouse. I can't keep anything outside at all during the winter. So this was a nice surprise to see...

Glad it is warming up for you!!!

    Take care,

We only have two months (or less) of winter. Some years, we don't even freeze. ;) We have typical fall weather October-mid December, and then we have winter-lite for about two months. Our low this year was 31°, and that lasted for one day. We only had 3 other days with lows in the 30's, and they were all high 30's. Then we get a long spring, and fairly standard summer. I've been here three years, and we never get hotter than 91° in the summer because of being so close to the Gulf waters.

I see plumerias outside all over town year-round, I just wasn't brave enough to try that.

I know some people love the four seasons, but I am not one of them. If you ever get tired of it, you're welcome on Galveston Island. ;)

    Laura,
Very pretty!! Reminds me of Kaneohe Sunrise a bit. A bit of tropical beauty during the snow.
    Enjoy
