Need help with white-spot in plants....

Hi, i'm new in gardening, and in need of help with my plants.

Once, my mother have a tomato plant that seemed to be infested with white flying bugs (aphids maybe?) in the garden - i see a lot of them hovering-. I think it caused the tomato leaves to have this spots in its leaves (white-ish/yellowish) and not long after the leaves would wilt and finally, all the leaves wilted and the plant die.

Now, I'm planting my plants from seed indoors and they sprout up seedlings just fine. However, when I moved them outdoors, it only takes about 2weeks for their leaves to have the same white-ish spots. I kept some of the seedlings indoor and they turned out fine, no white spots whatsoever on their leaves. And when I check my other new plants (bought from store) in the garden, their leaves also have this white-ish spots even though when they arrived the leaves were fine.

Oh, there's also some white-colored something (like mold or something) growing at the bottom of some of the plants in the garden.

I haven't seen many white-flying bugs, but once in a while i do see one or two flying or on a plant's leaf. Are these bugs the cause?

If yes, how do I control -if not eliminate- the bugs? I'm avoiding chemical pesticide because i have a rabbit and most of the plants in the garden was for my rabbit to eat. I've tried pepper-garlic spray (minus the soap since i couldn't get biodegradable soap here) but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Rosche, first of all...welcome to the GardenWeb! It's always nice to see a new face. And don't worry, your English is excellent.

If you visit the Garden Clinic Forum, you'll see that we really like to see pictures for identification purposes. Descriptions just aren't helpful, usually.

I'd guess that the white flying insects on your mother's tomato were whiteflies, a very common pest of tomatoes and other garden plants. But they aren't known for leaving white spots.

What we need from you in order to help you are pictures of the spots, pictures of the mold at the base of the plants, pictures! Without pictures, we really can't make any suggestions about what to use to control the 'bugs'.

Are you sure that your pepper spray didn't cause some of those spots? It's very easy to damage leaves with homemade concoctions.

well, i'll try to photograph some of them later today.
As for the pepper spray, no, I don't think it causes the spot because the spots are the reason i made it in the first place. So this is the chronological order:
see whiteflies -> see white spots on leaves & on a plant: see white something growing on the stem -> make spray --> spray it --> no changes

White(or yellowish) spot on leaves

White something in rose's stem

I think the same white thingy on the stem, but it's growing on the soil too *just noticed this*

I don't know if the white thingy related to the white spots... and i'm actually beginning to think it's not related... maybe the white thingy's something like a fungus / mold... considering it's rainy season here and it's always humid...

However, when I tapped the leaves, there's no whiteflies flying. Actually, I've seen no whiteflies for weeks now. But somehow the spots just get worse.

The white thingy is probably sooty mold, yes?

The spray recipe I used was actually an insecticidal spray, since I've read it control whiteflies and other bugs. Probably it doesn't work because I don't use soap in it.
