Outdoor Tabletop

Okay, I know Silvamae talked about this but I can't find the references. A friend is asking me to make a tabletop for her outdoor coffee table. I plan to make it on Wedi board, but I have a few questions.

Should I screw the Wedi board to a piece of plywood for stability? The top will be 2' X 3' approximately.

Would you use thinset to set the pieces, or does Weldbond (or another glue?) hold up well. I've always used thinset for outdoor pieces, but am starting to experiment with Weldbond on a Wedi board, and I think it's easier than mixing thinset. But being this is a commission piece and the person will be paying several hundred dollars for it, I don't want to take chances.

Would you tile the edge of the Wedi board? If not, how do you finish it? So far on the smaller pieces I've done, I grout the edges of the Wedi board. But for a table top, I'm thinking a more finished edge might be good. Or am I risking having the edge pieces chip off?

Silvamae, I could have sworn you talked about how you did your Austin Music sign, but between your blog and this thread, I can't find the post!

Thanks in advance for the help!
