Also I would like to see the shelves offset to one another instead of lined up. Move one to the right more. Are those interior windows over the sofa? I think if you do pull the sofa off the wall you can either add the sofa table w/ two lamps as suggested by Flair lighting. Or why not hang 3 pendant lights close to each other but stagger the heights. Hang in the corner of the sofa area.

Maybe not your vision of "discreet", but why not add an arc floor lamp? If you pull your sectional off the wall as already suggested, an arc lamp at the corner could be added and not take up so much floor space.
