You wrecked the infusion - toasting destroys the rose fragrance molecules.

If you are trying to do infusions and other herbal things, you need something besides a slow cooker, because temperature control is critical.

Were you using dried rose petals or fresh rose petals? If you were using dried, the oil soaked into the petals, reducing the amount of liquid. Also, a crock pot's minimum temperature is often over 150 degrees, a yogurt maker is better. You will want a temperature of about 100 degrees for 10 days and nights. You'll want to take the yogurt thermometer and check the temp every couple hours to make sure everything is ok.
For using dried herb, the ratio of herb to oil is 1:5. 1 part dried herb to 5 parts oil. (I use a scale. I'm not good at guessing.) The ratio of oil to fresh herb is 1 part wilted plant to enough oil to make the concoction thick-juicy-wet.

If you are using fresh herb, the water in the herb will make the concoction ferment. Use your nose frequently. When you detect that aroma, raise the temperature up to 150 degrees and when your solution reaches the 150 degree mark, immediately lower it back down to 100 degrees. You are killing the micro-organisms at this temperature. Then continue on until the procedure is complete.
