Border for bedroom?

I am trying to enhance the chocolate theme in my bedroom and I want to do some brown border at the top on one of walls? Just asking if this might be too much?

A border at the top of your ceiling will make the ceiling look even lower than it is. Besides that, wallpaper borders are definitely out of fashion. What you room needs is less, not more going on. You definitely need to edit the pieces on top of your dresser down to about 3.

If anything, you need to lighten up. See how your cat has chosen to rest on the lightest thing in the room! Smart cat!

And, besides, I think the camera has made the room darker than what it really is. I should have auto-adjusted the pic before I posted it on here,

If you want to enhance the chocolate theme, I would paint the walls. Not a dark chocolate brown, but a beige color, which would make the room seem warmer without making it that much darker. Also, to make the room seem taller and brighter to compromise for making the room darker, paint the ceiling a slightly lighter beige. Lighter ceilings make a room seem tall and less closed in.

I agree no border. I think a light area rug would make the brown everywhere else more pronounced without adding more brown/dark into the room.

Thanks for your tips. This is an apartment, so I only have so much room to work with. I will make a suggestion to my RM to see if they can repaint my apt.

I am already on top of the dresser. I know it has to be sanded and stained with a Dark/Black Cherry Polyurethane. Having trouble finding the first kind I purchased a few years ago.
