It has been years since attending one of these swaps. We moved to a new place and are in need of lots of plants. I tend to like unusual. I do have some wildflower perennials I could dig. I seeded a wild flower meadow last year with 14 different varieties. It's coming back beautifully so far. Does anyone have slightly different plants (perennials or annuals) they would like to share? QUESTION! Gloria, When you turn into your "drive" from Rd 4/Wagonwheel, are you the first house on the left, or do you go past that to the end of the "drive" to the second and last house?

Also, can you give me an idea of the total number of people you're expecting, with guests and husbands, etc.?

Almost there! The weather is now predicted to be in the low 70 and mostly sunny with no chance of rain at all--they say! Wonder if they know this is Colorado!!! Sounds like it's gonna be just about perfect! I really don't think we're gonna need them, but you all might consider sticking an umbrella in your car--just in case!

Also want to mention that some of you might want to bring your CAMERAS! I'll have mine and be taking pics again, but all the pics I post here on the "new RMG" are posted as LINKS, so maybe somebody who's willing to post actual pics "through houzz" would be willing to take a few to post so folks can see them without needing to click on the links!

Hey thanks Gloria, Skybird and everyone else who put in all the hard work for an awesome swap! Glad to finally meet everyone even though I showed up right at closing (who picked Berthoud anyways? Lol)! It was great and I only brought home 2 of the things I was trying to give away!

Thank you Lucy, Gloria and Camille! It was great to see familiar faces and new ones too. My little monster loved it and he got so excited to pet his first horse! My mom loved it as well and was excited to get irises and violas that she's seen around our neighborhood. All those Sunday's as a kid she would drag me and sis out of bed to yank weeds and plant got me into gardening but I hated it back then. I am sorry I couldn't make it earlier either Zack but looks like you made it just in time for the swapping. Also didn't think I'd stay and pick but couldn't resist the temptation and the little monster seemed to be behaving. Anyways here are some pictures I just took of the plants I brought in case anyone is wondering what they could look like. They were all dug up 2 weekends ago.

Another wonderful swap! Thanks to the sisters:) for hosting - Gloria, you new home in Berthoud is beautiful, and a terrific spot for the garden group to meet!! There were a lot of members & friends at this swap - think it was about 40? Very nice!!! Good to see faces I know, as well as meet new comers.

Sorry I had to leave a bit early (missed getting to pet the horse, darn it), but did manage to pick up two plants
I'm excited to have (Peony from Lizbest, and a Rudbeckia from Skybird),
and a big jar of those Palisade Peaches (I forgot who brought these, but
thank you! Plan on enjoying some today). I left the plants I brought in case anyone wanted them at the freeforall - hope they found a home, or you can use them Gloria. If not, feel free to pass along or add to your compost!

Looks like we'll be in the 80's here this week - yahoo! Gotta get my tomatoes, pumpkins, sunflowers, and watermelon into the ground today (along with my swap babies). Going to pick up a pepper or two, and some basil, as my seeds didn't make it.

It was a WONDERFUL swap! gjmancini, thank you and thank your sisters for hosting! I brought home lots of tomato plants from a couple of members, a meadow rue from Skybird, canned peaches and tomatoes and a bunch of hen and chicks starts. Really enjoyed the day talking to the group.

Skybird, this is a picture of your Circus Circus taken in 2013. I divided it that fall to send pieces to my sisters. It didn't bloom last year because of that but I'm hoping for this year!

This is Raspberry Rumba for those who took one home! Very similar to Circus Circus but with a white background instead of the light pink. Both have tons of 4-5 inch wide blooms every spring.

This is Lovely Rose, only pic from this spring. You can see evidence of our many hail storms in the leaves! Those who picked up this one, it comes up very early each spring and is always big before our last snows. It never seems to be damaged by the weather, though, except it will bend a lot afterward if not supported. It stays cupped pretty much until the bloom is quite old although not quite as tight as this picture since the bloom was only a day or so open at this stage.

I don't have a picture of Rubyette, sorry, nor could I find one of the lilies I brought.

Funny, didn't notice it until I looked at the post but the pics of the blooms of Circus Circus and Rasberry Rumba are pretty much life-size on my monitor! Lovely Rose is bigger.

What a fun time! Thank you Gloria, Lucy, Camille, Skybird, Liz (for driving) and everyone else who made this a great event. My only regret is that I didn't have more plants to offer. I think I can remedy that for the Fall Swap. Meanwhile, I have to think of where my new babies will live....

Ahhh, thanks for the lovely swap. I learned a lot from you experienced sorts -- I'm a garden virgin, remember? -- and have planted my little babies tenderly. Many of them I have no clue as to their identity. Waiting to see what they grow up to be?

Thank you to our hosts, to those who brought plants, those who brought food, those who took plants, provided good company, and everyone else! I too apologize for not bringing more plants. I will try to bring more either in the fall swap, next spring, or both.

I spoke to a few people about some private visits with trowel in hand, both at my place and at theirs. Feel free to contact me if there is something I have that you want, or if you want to get rid of a few more excess plants.

I am having fun deciding where to put my new babies. Fun times!

(amazing) house and yard, and Camille and Parking Man and all the rest of you
for helping to make Spring 2015 another very successful swap!

This was one of the biggest we’ve had for a few years. There were 42 people on the sign in sheet,
and with husbands and various other Significant Others who I think didn’t sign
in, I suspect there were at least 50 people there!

For anyone who got one/some of my recently potted up plants,
please remember to check the dates on the pots and keep the ones potted up
within the last two weeks in the pots until they grow roots all they way down
to the bottom of the pot—at least do that if you really want them to survive! If anyone has any questions at all about
plants they got from me, please come here or start a new thread to ask whatever
it is. I really want you—and the
plants—to succeed and be happy! Glad to
answer questions if it will help to make that happen!

Adding my thanks to everyone for driving, hosting, digging and sharing! I planted all of the veggies/herbs today and am SO excited to get the perennials in tomorrow.
Looking forward to fall already - let's see if I can get my yard to a non-hazardous state by then so the south side can REPRESENT! :)

I, too, would like to add to add my heartfelt thanks to the hosts and organizers of the swap. And thanks to all of the folks that took the time to pot up plants to share with us, and brought us food as well.

I had a wonderful time Saturday - and Mama Nature gave us wonderful weather, too . I enjoyed meeting everyone, most for the first time but hopefully not the last. Coming home with some new plant babies for my gardens was the cherry on the cake! I look forward to participating in future swaps, and promise to bring my share of swap plants next time, instead of just some pots and seeds. :-)

It sure was nice to see some familiar faces, and some new ones as well! I haven't planted much that we brought home from the swap; however, I haven't watered much of it, either! Thanks to the FAB hosts and great site--Lucy, your new place is amazing, and I know Gloria and several others did lots of behind-the-scenes organizing! Shall we also say thanks for the weather for holding out. I got my first sunburn of the season!

I love the idea of mini swaps and garden tours--maybe even "garden helper" tours? Could you imagine how much several savvy gardeners could knock out in an hour? Everyone gets to go home with something, and also a promise to have the same in your yard!
