Definately a true Negronne.

Dominant leaf shape with long fingers but the secondary leaf shape is the one with round and more mulberry style leaves.

IMO a Violette de Bordaeux is similar but not the same as Negronne.

Thanks Phil, Negronne is 3 years old, it is not to tall because I pruned it to my liking.

feigenbaum what is IMO stands for and what is the difference in between Violette de Bordaeux and Negronne ? Many people think it is juste another name ! is it nit so ? Thanks.

bluemoonlight, IMO means In My Opinion.

I don't own a Negronne, but I own two VdB's in ground and their figs are more elongated in the neck and there is NO honey drop. The leaves might be similar, but many are, so I think the ripe fig is the true tell. I think they are different figs.

I love my Negronne. Very rich and delicious. Many think the Negronne and VdB are the same. I have both.
