lilyfinch - It seems to want to sprawl so far. I have only had it for a year. I would not say that it would be upright. However, it has been growing in a pot up until now. I have recently planted it in the rose garden, so we will see.

bethnorcal - I think that you and I have so many roses that sometimes we missed a bloom or two or a hundred. LOL !!
bethnorcal - I also noticed that you and I both joined the Rose Gallery and Garden Web back in 2001. Maybe that is why we have too many roses.

Good gravy I gotta get it. It's absolutely beautiful!! Now off to see who sells it. I've ordered so many English this year I'm gonna cry when they come in and I have to plant them all. Not really! I love getting new roses!!

Suebelle, I actually joined before 2001. More like 1998 or 99, but somehow it got changed to 2001. Maybe that was back when Spike sold us out. I dunno. And I've been "collecting" roses since 1990. That's why I have so many. But being here certainly has had an influence on my purchases. LOL And as far as missing blooms... not likely. I'm obsessed, so I'm out there every moment I can be, within reason. My problem is, I work so much and don't have time to keep on top of the fertilizing and pruning, and all the maintenance, so some of the roses don't do as well as they could. I'm hoping to change that issue this season tho. Even if it kills me..

It's so pretty! I would like this rose, too :) My wishlist is always huge, lol.

Another Austin with the nicely ragged petal edges is the Wedgwood Rose. I grow that one and love her (although she needs support, imho; I grow her to be a climber).

suebelle, I'm assuming your gorgeous specimen is grafted, since my own-root one, which I've had for three years, is just now showing some growth and quite a few buds. I love the fact that it's disease-free for me but didn't expect it to be quite so slow in growing. I am hoping for a nice spring flush this year, though, to reward my patience.

Ingrid, You are correct, mine is a grafted plant. I purchased it 2 years ago from David Austin roses. I would love to have it on Fortuniana, but it looks like its get large and it probably would be a monster if I did.

I hadn't even considered that one and it's gorgeous! I am encouraged that it can do well somewhere hot and humid like we are in FL. I am definitely putting this one on my need list. Thanks for sharing.

Is it me or does it look like peonies? Beautiful!! I cant grow peonies in Orlando but maybe I can sub this one? :)

suebelle, mine is beginning to bloom now but, probably because of my alkaline soil, it doesn't have the beautiful lilac-pink color of yours. Because of the extreme temperature changes we've experienced and low humidity it looks a little beaten up, but I'm happy to at least see a goodly number of blooms. It's definitely a sprawler for me, which is a drawback since you can't see the "faces" of many of the blooms; they're busy studying the ground in front of them.
