I prefer the one on the right as it has some texture and pattern in it to add visual interest to the floor.

Concur with all the above

We had a white carpet years ago and it was very difficult to keep clean and crisp. It will be especially difficult on stairs. Hope you don't mind the advice.

i would not get either for stairs...... the one with divots will collect dust and the pile one will wear down.... perhaps a different grade of carpet .

Maureen, somehow the color of the carpet in the picture is whiter than it really is. It is cashew color - matches exactly the color of the carpet in the background. flair, I have choice of only these two.

Here is another picture. The carpet in the background is the same color as the carpet sample, but still it shows whiter than the carpet in the background in the picture - I don't know why.

then go with the lower pile carpet. to show less wear. and have it treated for stain resistance.

One on the right is my choice as well.
