open concept entry and dining blank walls

I am seeking design advice for my large blank walls in the dining room and entry. The house is very open and those two walls seem very plain. The dining room is very large and the staircase is in the entry. They are both along the main walkway from the front door to the living room. The baseboard and window trim are not finished yet. Any suggestions for those would be helpful too.

I enjoy many styles, mainly rustic lodge with a bit of traditional, but I also enjoy Tuscan and old world. There is a lot of wood in my home the ceilings are pine with exposed beams and the floors are walnut. I'm not sure I could make any kind of bench or narrow table work because of the traffic flow. I think any kind of wainscoting or wall treatment might be too much. I was thinking about a large iron or copper piece, but I just cannot come up with anything original.

Feel free to make suggestions for the rest of the room.

    2 ideas:

    • 4 tall thin pieces, 2 for each wall

    or

    • 1 horizontal piece that wraps the corner. Think of a 30" wide band...I can see a mural of the Tuscan Hills!

You could do a wrought iron (or similar) wall decor

Good suggestions, thank you, what scale would you suggest? The entry wall is 9 foot long and 10 foot tall. The dining wall continues on into the living room. Up to the wall defining the 2 spaces is 8 foot long.

I'd start by painting the wall the same color as the back wall of the dining area.

It scares me when people say Tuscan because I imagine they're getting ready for a trip to Hobby Lobby to pick up a piece of mass-produced iron scrollwork for $24.99.

After I painted, I'd hit the salvage yards and find a one-of-a-kind piece, something massive like these hand-carved Peruvian doors:

It needn't be one piece it could be several pieces of different shapes in proportion to the wall.
Also, what colour is on the wall in the entry near the stairs.
You might consider extending this colour into the DR for continuity.
Or you could do a wall hanging tapestry with wrought iron accessories

We tell every client with whom we work to think of their entry as the smile you put on your face whenever you greet someone, so it is very important to get this right and have it introduce the style of the rest of your home and remember that in many homes your entrance is also your exit and the place you check your actual smile before leaving your home. With all of this said consider separating this entrance hall from the rest of your home with a complimentary paint color or wall covering that is key to the style of your home. Add some additional lighting if possible and a mirror and small then console is always nice for checking things when coming and going.

Make your dining room more cohesive by painting the wall that is parallel to the table and down the hallway the same as the perpendicular wall to complete the sense of a room. You might also consider white washing the pine planks in between the exposed beams for added dimension and depth to the room as well as reflecting the light.

The entry to a home introduces you, your style, and anticipates what will be found in the adjoining rooms/spaces. Your furnishings seem more eclectic than rustic or lodge (except for the antler chandy.) Do you collect anything interesting you could hang on the walls? I was thinking about beautiful antique quilts, for example.

The entry color is SW decorous amber. I will consider changing it. There is a small space by the door that I could put a small table and mirror. Yes decoenthusiaste, my style is a bit eclectic. (I could add folk and craftsman to my style list too.) I do enjoy a good antique shop or flea market. I'd definitely like to go with something original or repurposed. I made an old hay trolley into a chandelier for above the kitchen island.

I do so much appreciate all of your ideas and comments!!!
