I would choose the hyacinth bean. I have never been successful with getting the moon flower to bloom(may be climate related) and the moon flower also only has its flowers open for the evening and overnight hours whereas you can enjoy the pretty flowers of lablab throughout the day. I found it very easy to grow.

I have enjoyed hyacinth bean(lablab);nice color,easy to grow from seed,easy to combine with other colors, and blooms during the day. Good for hummingbirds!

Any reason to limit it to only those two?

This trellis is smack-dab next to the front door, and it is within full view of one of my kitchen windows (and kitchen workspace). So, the foliage needs to be top-notch. I've grown moonflowers here before and they looked good, and I did enjoy the light scent when they bloomed in the late evening and I was nearby, but the blooming sometimes does not start until late in the season (late August last year!). I grew hyacinth bean a long time ago (maybe 15 years?) and I don't recall much about it other than I *think* I liked it...

So, any further comments on the hyacinth bean vine would be appreciated. Mainly regarding the foliage. I'll make a separate post too, to try and get more comments.
