wishing well

my brother gave me this wishing well and I am struggling on what to do with it. It will be in DIRECT SUN, TEXAS HEAT, so no plants I would think.... I was thinking of painting it? or distressing it more? I also need to shore it up cause it's rickety, any ideas on how to do that?

If the box part is rickety you can put cross braces on the inside. At least 4 pc's one for each side.

The posts holding the roof i would replace with 2 x 3's . They come in 8 feet at home depot, so have them extend into the well as far as possible
