Yes, BUT there should be a good reason for a design calling for different wood floors in the same main space. If matching is a problem. you could get unfinished flooring for a new area, as an example, and have it stained to match existing flooring.

You can use a different wood if it's in a different area. Make sure that it looks like you did it for a reason. Use a different size board, turn the wood on a diagonal, use a parquet or use a border around the room. You want to make sure that it appears that you had a specific design idea in mind when changing products.
