The short version: keep it growing as a houseplant, don't overwater, place it outside for the summer, keep it watered and fertilize every now and then, stop watering about October, bring it in when frost threatens. Keep dry and in a cooler spot and start watering again in feb or later (whenever you want it to start growing again and hopefully bloom)

Does the advice above apply regardless of where one lives? I'm in the Seattle Tacoma area. I bought 3 amaryllis bulbs just after Christmas and would like to keep them for reblooming year after year, if possible.

It works here in zone 9 California,actually they go through the winter in the garden, blooming about the end of May. It is possible to have them bloom in the winter indoors but you would need to force them into dormancy in late summer. Al
