First, decide what function you need the window covering to perform. Color added to the space? Light control? Privacy? Also, what treatments are on other windows within view. Panels on a rod would work for all three, but to be symmetrical could not be pulled completely off the window due to your lack of stacking space to the left. A plain color roman shade could replace your current window treatment, but resist the urge to make it too custom, due to price and the possibility that you might want to chance wall color in the future.

My favorite window dressing is plantation shutters. You have a window which looks like it opens only the bottom half and it slides left or right? Not sure. So when the roman shade is pulled up for ventilation, that bottom portion has no privacy. I like to see out my windows, but have privacy as well, so the interior shutters are my solution. These shown are about 6 years old now, in the dining room, tops are closed, bottoms are turned open. We are remodeling and the shutters are staying.
