You should nick the opposite side of the black spot.

I keep hearing everyone talk about "nicking" them. All I did was soak them overnight in warm water and then potted them up. That was on the 24th which was 4 days ago. Kept

them in a jiffy greenhouse on a heating mat and under a fluorescent fixture... This is the result & 100% germination! Good luck! :)

Yep same here, no nicking, just soaked them in water for 24 hours and put them into a covered seed starter tray. I think it took about 2 weeks for them to come up. With a heating Mat it would probably be even faster
