Hi all, this is my Krimson Queen. About 15 years old, south west window, never, never bloomed. But I do enjoy the foliage this will be the first year I will have fed it a blooming fertilizer. Fingers crossed.

Thank you. That is all it has done since I really tried to take care of it, nothing but multiple vines of pink to ivory leaves. These are abou 6 months old.

Aurora, the ants are Oecophylla smaragdina, sometimes called Weaver Ants because they stitch leaves together to build nests. In some places they've been used as biological pest controls with people putting bamboo poles from forest trees across into their gardens. The ants use the poles as highways because they prefer to not walk on the ground.

I'm hoping the Hoya will spread all over the tree (African Oil Palm) which already has Arachnis, Vanda and Dendrobium orchids growing over the trunk. They should all co-habit quite well.

Sorry, Tropicbreezent, I posted in the wrong place. I am a newbie to the forum. I hope to become a better Hoya grower. I envy you your blooms! Here in Colorado, I can not grow outside due to deer and cold., so I find it tough to take care of my plants. Yours is certainly beautiful.

No worries smi2. I didn't think animals like deer would eat Hoya. The indigenous people here used to use the sap from the native Hoya to etch art into rock. Hate to think what it would do to the linings of the mouth, throat and stomach of animals.

Where do you live, TB? It would be awesome to live where you could walk out to a tree with Orchids and Hoyas growing in it!! Now that would be MY kind of paradise!
