Does anyone here have experience with these floors?

Samantha, no one has commented back to me yet...I saw the product down in a house, it looks fantastic!!! But, it is difficult to find info on the exact product online with reviews.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered Mohawk Hickory Gunpowder 3/8 inX 5 in - 450 sq. feet of it. I also ordered their "Silent Guard" underlayment. It is NOT their Raschiato collection. I think its called the Rockford Collection.
I figure because its going upstairs the floors wont see much traffic so its fine that they are engineered. They are only 1.6mm thick veneer.
The floors are due to arrive late this week, and have to sit around for a few days before the install.
I was also sure to order their brand underlayment, so if anything goes crazy down the road, there will be less chance of Mohawk blaming it on materials or install.

Will keep you posted and try to post pics once floors are in.

Are you happy with your choice of Mohawk engineered wood floors? I cannot find many good reviews, but have found a sample board that is beautiful and am considering this for my home.

Very happy so far with Mohawk... the particular flooring I chose was engineered hardwood with the Armortech coating. I also made sure that my installer used their brand underlay as well.

I did a super dark color...very low luster.. and to keep clean- I am a big fan of the Bona Hardwood cleaner (NOT the bona floor polisher). Once I picked out the color/style I ordered them online because the pricing was the lowest. I don't regret getting engineered hardwood one bit- I used it for the upstairs of the house because I wasn't worried about high traffic. The armortech coating isnt available in all their styles, but I am glad I opted for a style that featured it.

Let us know how it goes.. and compare prices! It was about 30 pct cheaper to order online versus my local flooring store.

Thanks so much for your input. This is a BIG decision and I have not read many good critic reviews on any brand engineered wood floors. I can find many negative comments on wood flooring. Perhaps people that are unhappy are the only ones that write reviews. You have been a big help!

We just installed engineered hardwood floors as we were told this was the only thing that would work on concrete floors (nota basement, but a second floor loft). I have to say that even though they have like a twenty year warranty they sure aren't the solid hardwood I've had in the past. Im not at all impressed and I can't even imagine how they would hold up if we had a pet or kids. They scratch very easily and since they are almost a black finish it doesn't take much to go through and show the lighter composite wood underneath. They feel solid, but just don't have the look or durability as claimed. Avoid if you have a choice.

Oh gosh.. thats awful. What brand did you use? I have cement basement as well, so we did large format tile. I didnt want to risk the engineeered hardware thing. I figured the cement floor in basement will take good to the tile, and to warm up the space, I used area rugs.

I was leary of using eng hardwood as well, but we laid it over existing hardwoord (which was a cheap old hot mess) and I also got a very very dark almost black color.. so far so good. I have 2 little dogs and they are upstairs all the time! Maybe its the armourtech coating that made all the difference in how its holding up? Scratches havent been a problem at all so far. There were a few superficial ones, but I live by an art store and quickly doctored them with an india ink marker in espresso brown. I was more worried about cupping and shifting than I was about scratches. By the way, the wood markers and repair wax Mohawk gives you sucks big time. The india ink markers were a godsend. Perfect match!

I had them installed in May and here in nyc we have crazy weather swings. Our installer deliberately installed them with expanding and contracting in mind.

For our cement floor basement, we used tile (Hubby is marble/granite fabricator) and I used area rugs to warm up the space.

Also wanted to add.. for scratches I use an india ink marker - very dark color.. espresso. Much better blending and coverage than those stupid wax markers the wood floor manufacturers give you.

I have Mohawk engineered hickory wood floor that was professionally installed 6 yrs. ago. The Kitchen area has become dull because of high traffic but rest of house is fine. How do I bring back the shine?

Is your flooring the 9/16" thickness? Did staple or glue down? Are you on a slab or wood subfloor. We are looking to have these installed in the near future and would love to get you opinion/review? Are the floors really looking dull in high trafficed areas in 3 months?

Old thread I see, but thought I'd add my $.02 in case anyone is considering Mohawk engineered floors. Don't. I wouldn't recommend even if it were free. As someone mentioned, it scratches a ton (no way does it have hardness of 1250 as it says in the specifications) and chips between planks. I have used a marker on them dozens of times in 5 years and had to even before we moved in - a major scratch from the movers in a very prominent spot. If you get these floors, get your markers ready. Most definitely don't get if you have dogs. We don't, but I can only imagine it would be a nightmare. Also any unnoticed water spots, like if you have it in the kitchen as we do, will wear down the top coating easily. If you feel these floors are for you, hopefully you get an extra layer of coating after installing to toughen them up.

A Janka “hardness” scoring of 1250 is really low. You chose a wood that’s too soft. I don’t think people do their research about the janka score and then are surprised about scratches/dents. Google janka hardness scale. I wouldn’t chose anything lower than 1800. I’d love to know the janka scores on all the complaints?

We are considering a Mohawk engineered wood floor for our upstairs floor. it is 9/16”. the contractor said they will glue down. is nail or glue better for a wood subfloor?

Our Mohawk engineered hardwood floors have no durability at all. They scratch so easily - you have to be extremely cautious and not drag anything over them. Floor protectors on all your chairs. I do not recommend. Ours are only a year old, I would never choose them again.

I have a new build Mohawk engineered floors and they have been a nightmare from the beginning. Finish wearing off multiple places almost immediately after we moved in. I’m looking to have them replaced. Would never purchase this brand

Jyoung527 and Cindy. I’m curious if you got Mohawk’s UltraWood or something else? I’m trying to decide between their LVP and the LVP UtraWood.
