It's a bit depressing, really. No programs set up, no amounts of money allocated, no clue! And yet we have to try to be patient and believe, by some miracle, they're really serious about this. Monsanto is evil!

The Monarch is just the tip of the iceberg. Undoubtedly there are many,
many other species being affected by RU ready crops. Monarchs are
noticeable because of their beauty, but what about the rest? There are
many niches in nature that are being eradicated.

In my area, I've noticed severe declines in many local butterfly species. Monsanto, discontinue products that are harming butterflies (and other species, including humans)!

It is indeed thoroughly depressing--the breadth of the issue and also, as horster mentioned, the multitude of other species that are being affected out of eyesight.

It feels like all of this "let's plant milkweeds for monarchs!" enthusiasm is a mere drop in the bucket compared with the massive swaths of prairie land laid functionally barren by widespread pesticide use. I still try and I will always champion native plants for pollinators--but it does feel a little bit futile at times. :(

As long as there is a demand for falsely cheap food (we pay dearly for cheap food from environmental destruction to health issues) there will be Monsanto.
