This is my first season in a new home in coastal South Carolina (Zone 8b). A couple of months ago I cleared the weeds from a small flower garden, planted some daffodil bulbs, and laid down cypress mulch. As per the label on Vigoro Bulb Fuel plant food, I fertilized the planting hole. The label also says I should fertilize again when the daffodils bloom. Well, they have poked through the mulch and are beginning to bloom. Should I clear away the mulch before sprinkling the fertilizer? Or will it seep through if I just sprinkle it on top of the mulch?
