Several years ago I was growing Rattlesnake pole beans and Romano pole beans in the same small plot. The Romano vines had a lot of leaves curled up with a caterpillar inside the curled-up leaf; the caterpillar had a prominent brown head. I found out they are called beanrollers, and they become a type of butterfly called Long-Tailed Skippers. The Rattlesnakes, though, were completely free of them. This year I plan to plant a variety of beans to see which are susceptible to beanrollers. But let me ask first - can you people tell me any varieties that are susceptible or resistant to beanrollers?
