Where is the best place to buy bromeliads online?

Would like to see pics and a wide variety.

Michael's Bromeliads and the variety is to many to put photos all online. He maintains a full list online and he is happy to supply photos.

    Hi everyone.

Unless dealing with a reputable well known seller as above, BUYER BEWARE!

Some sellers here in Aus. advertise brom's accompanied with pictures that have been digitally enhanced and what you get is often nothing like what was shown in the picture.

I don't know how much experience you have, but remember, if buying Neo. pups, they'll often just be green in colour and nothing like the adult plant as many don't gain their true colour until they mature.

    All the best, Nev.

    Hi, you two.

No experience only ones I have came from supermkts and some that

We're given to me by Jerry Raack many years ago. Lost touch with him.

Hope to move soon. To a place where it rains and plan to start growing

    Bromeliads again.

    Thanks much, jo

Nev is correct about some sellers. Not the case with Micheal. He can show you a mature plant and what you will get if your buying a pup. I buy alot from him and visit his place often. All 20 acres.

Is there other nurseries recommended, just for promoting more brom. nurseries.

Jerry Raack showed plants here in Texas as a matter of fact I beleive one of them was a Tillandsia named for him. Also submitted alot of nice photos of broms from many shows from Florida.

Last I heard from jerry Raack he was going back to SA that was last fall.

Will send him an email to congratulate him. Kind of neat knowing someone who have a plant named for him.

Hotdiggetydam, you are in the Houston area? Lived in Silsbee before moving here. Still have a small farm across the Neches River from S. Need to sell that.

Anyway thanks, if you decide to quit Houzz let us know where to reach you.

    You are a big help.

I am south of houston. What area do you live in now.? I never go far from what was the Garden web. Thats one thing I don't like about this site...There is no way to send private emails anymore or atleast I haven't found it.

We can email, well, as more folks get on board.
Go to "Your Houzz" and then "Edit Profile" (both on the top right).
Once there, on the left, hit "Advanced Settings"
Waaaaay down at the bottom is "Who can message me" in small, non-bold print. Choose "Anyone can message me". Once you do this, a "Message" bar will show up on the right side of the banner picture and if folks hit it, they can send you a message. Oddly, we don't see our own "Message" bar, only other folks can.
