Seriously guys, nobody knows what kind of an orchid this is? I really do need your help!!!!!

I thought it might be a catasetum, but the flower doesn't match most of those.

Thank you arthurm2015, thats what I thought but the bulbs are huge. about 500 grams each, and the flowers are very tiny. I had to use a zoom to get close to them

Hi Darlene, They were selling them in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Since they looked strange, I got 2. What they told me was that they were terrestrials, and was supposed to plant them 1/2 way the bulb in bark and coconut fibre. It spiked ( various in fact) immediately. and has so many buds to be opened.

Maybe Eulophia graminea?

Cool find! How did you pack it for the flight? Did customs at the airport ask about it?

Hi Kyrri, I packed it in some t-shirts then in the suitcase. The customs did not ask anything about it, but I was prepared. I usually buy my plants whenever I go to Asia from dealers that work along with the agricultural ministry, with a small fee they guarantee that the plants are desease free and get me the import export permit. By the way, the bulbs were bare root, so it didnt have any medium or soil on it

google the orchid and we have an invasive plant. Invasives are dangerous to the environment and should be avoided. Especially because we are blessed with a very large menu of non invasive orchids. Please be careful...

I think customs in the US would not be happy...

Thanks shavedmonkey, but I don't live in the states. I live in Madrid Spain, and the only thing invasive about our plants is the dry awful heat in the summers, so basically nothing grows without any help. I wish I lived in the states, then I would have my pick of orchids to buy. Since not 1 seller ships to spain, then I have to make do!! hahaha

I read in this thread you live in Spain. Been there and liked it! And if it is needy then it is not invasive there. But for anyone else that it may be invasive, avoid it. Please.
