I have a 30" Bosch induction cooktop that I love - I love induction in general for its responsiveness and because it's so easy to keep clean. I love my unit in particular becuase you select the power level directly (rather than having to tap-tap-tap or a slider/dial) and because each hob has a timer (I have oatmeal cooking right now - I know it takes 25 minutes at 2.5 power level - when it hits 25 minutes, it will go off by itself).

That all said, I have a 30" Fagor oven underneath the Bosch cooktop, but it was not easy to find an oven that would fit because of the airflow requirements of the induction cooktop. Many brands prohibit (meaning it will void the warranty) putting an oven under the cooktop.

I wonder if there is a slide in "stove" which includes the oven and an induction cook top above. Might kill two birds with one stone.

There is - it didn't exist when I did my kitchen, or I'd definitely have gone that route.

husband won't let us get a slide in. i may go with the fagor/bosch combo, as sjhockeyfan325 did. thanks for the thoughts!
