Looks like a dendrobium, but we have to wait until the buds open to know for sure.

Thanks! I'll post back with open flowers...

My bet is nobile type dendrobium.

Pretty sure it is a soft cane/ nobile dendrobium. It looks like it is going to put on a nice show.

Wow, that's beautiful shavedmonkey!!! Guessing mine will be purple?

Thanks Darlene!

Mine are open...very similar to yours shaved...

Thanks ALL for your help and comments.

And I have this other one blooming also...I think its a Cattleya..

Err no, that's a phalaenopsis.

A pretty phalaenopsis!

Oh okay, thank you dbarron! Lol..not an orchid person...can you tell?

Looks like you might be on your way to becoming one. it is a very slippery slope. :)

You might be right Darlene :o)...or it might just be "beginner's luck",lol...

The truth is, once you figure out the requirements, it is really very easy. Don't tell too many people. They think we are smart. Let them think that...

Mostly Den. softcane/nobile Hybrids. Beginner's luck indeed. Looks very well grown to me. As for the name that is a mystery. Look at the orchids in the link. They are mostly soft-cane Dendrobium hybrids where the main ancestor is Dendrobium nobile. You cannot call your orchid Dendrobium nobile unless you are absolutely sure it is the species Dendrobium nobile or one of the varieties of Dendrobium nobile.

Another link, a variety of Dendrobium nobile. I know you are never going to show your orchids etc.etc. but you never know.Den. nobile species

Hi everyone,

I need to ID the type of orchid is it. I look online but did not see anything that look similar.

Thanks,

Yeni

It might be a Dendrobium

To the last poster, start your own thread and you'll get more attention. I can't tell (need better pics with more zoom on leaves and stems).

Thank you both i will add more pictures and make a new thread :)

puglvr1, some nice growing for a non orchid expert. Nice red. Possibly a Jewel Box cross?

Thanks Aztcqn...I do believe that is one of the ID that was suggested on my "red" orchid...
