You can winter sow Morning glories and Moon flower when you do your tender annuals. The same for the coleus but you will need a thick heavy duty container for coleus. They don't like the cold. I sow them in either a cranbury juice or sunny 'd' jug.

I think they will do great. I have experienced someone casting seeds all over my garden in fall. The following late spring I had to yank a gagillion seedlings. They will do fine. Trust me!!!

No they won't. They will certainly germinate (then sulk and likely rot) but these seeds( like seeds of a number of tender plants) need to germinate and grow fast, WITH NO CHECK TO GROWTH...not unlike tomatoes. They do far better if sown like zinnias, which in the UK is as late as May, when the weather is already warm, without a massive differential between day and night.
