Your cabinets could go yellow against the wrong gray, as could your countertops and flooring. However, if you choose a warm gray (not all the way to putty) you stand a better chance. Bring home plenty of paint chips or a color fan deck to see how your natural and artificial lighting and finishes work with the color before you begin work.

On the B. Moore website (below), Edgecombe Gray seems closer to beige than gray and if you look at the "Similar" colors at the bottom, they are all in the beige family. I don't think it will compliment your cabinetry and would head towards the grey family. I would bring home a few samples of mid range greys (one is picture below is B.Moore #HC-170 "Stonington Gray, which would make your cabinetry pop, instead of fade into the walls). Our kitchen is very similar to yours and I used Grey Mirage. It's beautiful with the granite.

There's nothing in your kitchen that says "go gray" to me. Stay with the warmer tones you have going on every surface.

A surprising trick to cool down beige is to replace your lighting with LED bulbs. Most light fixtures can accommodate this. Also, put LED strip lights under your cabinets. (not expensive and so easy to install) See if that helps first before you decide on your wall color. You'll never really know how gray will look until you paint. So get testers and paint different colors on a few areas until you're happy with what you see.

What did you end up going with? I have cream cabinets with similar countertop and I was looking at Stonington Grey. I really want a grey wall to brighten room but wish my cabinets were white. Can't afford to change those right now. I don't want it to clash but I can't stand the sand colored walls that were here when we bought house. I also have this light grey stone wall wine rack in kitchen that can't be changed.

Grey and cream go well together - especially if you go with a grey that has brown undertones. Changing the cabinet hardware to an antique matte silver would look great:
