ID Please

I'm guessing this is a bromiliad I got it from an acquaintance and the mother was too overgrown to see any good growth patterns.

Not a bromeliad. Its a member of the Zebrina (commelinaceae) aka wandering jew

It's actually not a wandering jew but a dwarf oyster plant. The wandering jew ID led me down the rabbit hole that had the right answer. Thanks. :-)

Rhoeo spathacea = dwarf oyster plant = Trandescantia spathacea = Moses-in -a-cradle = invasive weed in a few states

Def Rhoeo. They took over a small bed, reproducing and crowding everything out. Those little seeds in the cradle will root in cracks in the sidewalk 10 ft away. Luckily the bed was surrounded by concrete. It is a pretty grouping though.

Is at times used smartly in certain spots or in a container with other tropicals I have seen some striking pots using this as a base plant. Is common but neat.
