Heirloom Iris

I am the Steward of a historic garden on the grounds of the Benton House (1873) in Indianapolis, IN. We've several collections of pre-1900s including iris, daffodil, hemerocallis and species hosta. At present over 50 species or cultivars of iris are in our collection which is registered as a "display" garden with the Historic Iris Preservation Society. Of course, we are interested in selling, trading, or purchasing additional plants. Anyone interested? If yes, contact me. Thanks, Ed Myers

Yes, Ed I am interested in purchasing some older irises or maybe trading. I have to take a look at what I have after the snow melts. Can you send me a list of the older irises you have?

Our collection of over 50 species or cultivars of pre-1900 irises has been designated a "display garden" by the Historic Iris Preservation Society. Some of those available this summer include: Queen of May (1859) Salter, Amas (1885) Foster, Perfection (1880) Barr, I. geraminica (1753) collected, Swertii (1612) collected, and Mme. Chereau (1844) Lemon. Ed, Steward, Benton House (1873) Historic Garden.

I would be interested as well. I've got about 50 or so Historic Iris. Are you interested mainly in only Iris from the period of the house?
