My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    It is a clear sealant on red western cedar; no stain. As far as the maintenance cost, I don't have that information, but I would inquire with a contractor near you, since labor costs can vary greatly.

      Can you recommend a clear sealant brand to use that is hardy for New England? (We have Western red cedar siding being shipped in from British Columbia and the house is being constructed in Western Connecticut.)

      How did you get that red color? I have western red cedar and it looks nothing like that with clear sealer.

      The cedar is Grade A Clear Western Red Cedar. It was chosen for its color from a local lumber supplier. Your cedar looks very pale in comparison...
