Happy Pi Day to you too! I'm making a chocolate pie this morning to celebrate.

I called my Dad this morning to say happy pi day, just so he could tell me the old joke that, "Pie are round, cornbread aRe square." ;)

Yes, really cool timing today.

I just told DH I should make a pie today. I do have lemon and key lime mixes on hand.

Our fresh apple pie is in the oven!! When I first began at the high school the math dept. sold Little Debbie pies as a fundraiser for Pi day--and to celebrate their profession. Kids made shirts, it was a huge deal. Now sadly the school board has moved spring break and we miss the entire thing. My kids still remember and we celebrate at home!!

Here's my contribution to the celebration.

Yum!

When Pi day is a school day, you should see the pies that stack up in the school office, waiting to be picked up for math classes!

Despite being a decidedly mathy kid, DS16 slept in past 9:26. We did have quiche for brunch (also a Frenchy kid). And for dinner, since he has involvement with Sweeney Todd, we having Shepherd's Pie (not "peppered with actual shepherd"). Or perhaps chicken pot pie, with chicken, not cowards. Also watching the movie (with Angela Lansbury and, believe it or not, Neil Patrick Harris!)

And French Silk pie for dessert.

And a long long walk tomorrow to work it all off.

At lunch we were trying to think of a Pi movie for tonight. Life of Pi; American Pie; we got of subject quickly!!

Lemon meringue pie is cooling right now. :)

We are having key lime at our house :)

DH and I are making cranberry apple pi, I mean pie.

DS1 and his physics/maths classmates celebrated an early Pi day yesterday. DS1 picked up a few pies at our local market on the way in to school to add to the other pies being brought in by other kids.

We had Chicken Pi Pie...
