Hiya hippie. I love wattle fencing. Love it. love it. I looked into it once and figured it was easier to buy the willow when and if I ever had the means. I also recall buying online from someone with specialty willows the best option for starter plants. I don't recall the web address, though. I have since decided to use my local poplar for any wattle fencing. Just played with twining some pruned limbs yesterday, in fact. Poplar also has the natural rooting hormone like willow.

Y'all be sure and dry your willow and poplar well before putting them into the garden or they'll root into the ground and grow. I know someone who once cut and used fresh green willow limbs for garden plant stakes, and the willows rooted into the soil and grew.
