Possible NuMex Halloween Mutation

So this year I broke out one of my dried NuMex Halloween pods from last year and started some seeds from it.

One of them has come up rather... different.

Can you guess which one?

It clearly doesn't look like your normal Halloween (one of it's sister plants from the same pod can be seen behind it), and I figured at first that I just had some kind of runt or something. Didn't look very healthy, but I had space in the grow cabinet so I let it keep going.

All the other peppers have come along nicely, but this one reached the above state and just sat there for weeks. Very dark, virtually black leaves, even under CFLs, and obviously not following the same growth patterns as it's sisters. Still, I figured it was probably too damaged to survive, but left it alone.

But look what I see now. It finally put out another leaf!

So now I'm very interested to keep this one going and see if all of the leaves keep the black coloring. I would say its possible that it might have crossbred with a Black Pearl I think I was also growing at the time, but just off the top of my head I would have expected all the seeds from a single pod to display the same phenotype if that was true?

Maybe its a mutation. Maybe its just a perfectly normal NuMex Halloween that was damaged somehow and is just taking a long time to catch up.

Either way, I'm keeping a close eye on this one. If it keeps this growth pattern and coloration, well lets just say I've got the facilities now to grow year round. If it turns out out to be unique, I can try to stabilize it.

If it works out, I think I'll call it Halloween Night.
