Plant robbers

I can't believe it! My plants are in the back yard Surrounded by walls. Now I am worried about all my other smaller plants. Feel like buying a camera system. At least I should put up a sign saying I have cameras.

Oh Angela... I'm so sorry to see this.

People can be so cruel and thoughtless. It just make me so upset when we work so hard and wait years for blooms to have some idiot decide to just help themselves and take or break a limb for themselves. Most of us would gladly give a cutting if asked.

I don't have a problem in my area because people around here don't know what Plumeria are. But.. I do keep them all in the backyard with my dogs..

I dare anyone to take a stroll in my yard to take or even touch anything. Between my dogs, my hubby ( proud member of the NRA). And son.. Bring it on. Oh.. I forgot to mention. I also wear a pink ( NRA) hat. Proud to wear and proud to be trained .

Don't get me started.. It angers me so...

I hope you get some fences or camera or dogs...

What is our isn't ours anymore.. Grrrrr....

    Meet my dog, " Sweetie"

    Angela,

Sorry to hear about your loss, I feel for you as I have been in your place also. If you live in So Cal, plant/plumie theives are not detoured or scared by warning signs or seeing cameras, as I have had both. In LA it just seems to be par the course that comes with plumerias. The only thing you can do it keep them behind lock and key and watch your gardners. I know Becky in Riverside told me her gardners would break branches and take them, she luckily lectured them and had them bring back the cuttings.

Again sorry to hear about your loss and hopefully that's it for the season, Karma will get them.

    Cheers

I am so sorry that this happen to you. Do you know how they got in your backyard? I just don't understand people sometimes. Hope that your day goes better, Barb

    Hi Angela,

I am so sorry for what happened to you. It is extremely upsetting and violating to think that someone would not only steal from you, but have the nerve to trespass into your backyard. I have been dealing with plant robbers, too, and I understand your pain. Some people just suck, plain and simple.

    Wendi

PS - Laura, got my NRA bumper sticker and lawn signs out front!

Thanks everyone. Theft has become so rampant these days. People steal anything not bolted down here in So Cal. My backyard is mostly closed and far from the street but someone can walk in from the street. I have caught someone in the back before going through the trash! The one good thing is that didn't ruin the rest of the tree.

Maybe you could try getting a sign that says beware of Large Dog. Hope that the rest of the tree blooms a lot this year. Barb

I have taken 5 cuttings from others plants this winter. I ask every time. I usually wind up talking to them for quite some time, and often end up trading other plants with them.

No one I have ever asked has told me 'no'.
