Anybody? The bulbs overwintered in the pot, under an overhang and tipped a little so the soil wouldn't get too wet. I'm inclined to just let it go and see what happens, although I will be so disappointed if the blooms don't show up. I planted 3 bulbs and 2 came up. Zone 9b or 10 depending....

Lilies generally emerge on the early side and I think you "should" already be seeing some plumb thumb sized new shoots pushing through the soil. If they don't pop up in the next several weeks, then I'm wondering if the mother bulbs had somehow met their demise for whatever the reason.

Okay, that's good to know, thank you. I don't see a stalk coming up at all. I just read that lilies need a certain period of cold and I'm in a climate with warmish winters. Wondering if that could be the problem. I planted newly purchased star gazers couple of weeks ago and they already have stalks about 5 inches.

twrosz, if I let these go and then dig them up in the fall and store them as you suggested, will they survive or should I dump this pot out and start over? I think I have time to plant more casablancas if I can find any bulbs...

Rhoder, if the original large bulbs you had planted soon don't sprout forth and strengthen and replenish themselves this summer, they just might fizzle away to nothing ... though, if they're still sound come late autumn, then go ahead and dig and store them in the crisper of your fridge (not the freezer). Meanwhile, I'd hunt down some fresh bulbs to ensure you have the beauty and fragrance to enjoy this summer :)
