Thanks. I rushed to put these on because I would love to get ideas, but you are right. In a few weeks I'll be back up there and can take better pictures and accurate measurements for a sketch.

I would move fridge to L of sink (getting rid of the stove and corner cabinets.

The stove could go to opposite end of kitchen (mirror to where it is now, so with corner cabinets turning into stove on wall parallel to sink wall)

Get rid of or move breakfast bar and china hutch and continue cabinets and counter to point where there is still room for your round table and chairs

New uppers should go to ceiling

If you can change out the lighting, new fixtures will use less electricity and light the space better

If moving the gas line for stove is a big deal, then put the stove along sink wall at L and still do corner cabinets on the opposite end of kitchen with I’d say a foot or more of cabinetry along parallel wall before putting fridge and continuing cabinetry. I just don’t like the stove right next to door - too easy fro someone to walk in and get burned or knock something off of stove.

The kitchen and informal dining area are basically an L shape, although most of the kitchen is just along one outside wall. The hutch in the picture is now gone. You cannot see it in the photos, but there is a window in front of the refrigerator so although great for light, it limits taking the counter on around that wall. The wall on the left is a bathroom and altering that is not currently in our plans. The farmhouse is a "2 over 2" and the bath and kitchen were only added about 15-20 years ago (that's right, there was no running water the first 75 years) so that area holds no historical value or charm! We will take out existing cabinets and add new ones up to the ceiling and definitely change light fixtures. Stove is electric so no issues with moving it if necessary. I do want to get the best possible layout before making any significant changes
