The so-called Harlequin Type Phalaenopsis will have flowers that vary from year to year, flower to flower. maybe this big variation from the in-flower plant you purchased is caused by growing conditions that are a long way from the optimum.

I will upload a picture with the whole pot, i didn't find anything out of the ordinary with the foliage - that compared with the other ones i have, some of the flowers are still not fully open. The plants are at a steady 23C, indoors, in a balcony, not in direct sunlight, no wind, in the middle of Romania :) They all have their steady place, not moving them around. They all receive water weekly, by submerging the pot in a bigger water pot, they are fertilized every 2 weeks while they have flowers.

The strange thing is that we have at least 6 phala this is the only one with problems. They all have amazing flowers....and they bloom and flower without losing the flower buds or anything else...thank you for your answer, i'll get back with the whole pot as soon as i can..

can the genetic heritage of this one be different from the other ones
and that might be the reason? The others i have on the same spot are
wildly flowering...and flowering again....

Hi Adina, I do not know when this trait first appeared and when orchid judging panels (In Australia) were told not to expect the colour blotches and spots to be the same on all the flowers in the raceme.

There are more than 24391 Phalaenopsis Hybrids registered on the Database kept by the Royal Horticultural Society in England.

Hmm..for me the spotting and color doesn't bother me, i am keeping them for their beauty not their value, it's the fact that the flowers are crooked and not opening the petals fully :) I want to try to give the plant the best options to thrive and enjoy its beauty in return
