    It is illegal to keep an alligator in California; however, the worst thing that they could to is let it free because DFW will kill it for simply living. The one in Alameda was sunning on a rock when it was murdered because they didn't know how to get it crated -- likely a pet that an owner released when they realized how big they got. Very very irresponsible and sad all around.
