Not nearly enough light nor was it close enough (1-2" max distance). Toss the really tall ones and deeply transplant the shortest ones into new cells burying all that exposed stem. Then give them much more and closer light. Keep it just barely above the top of the plants as they grow.

I would say that although they do need more light I would not throw any of them away. You can pinch sweet peas repeatedly to get multiple stems. But make sure you pinch above a set of leaves. I also wouldn't bury the stems - at least I have never done so. Turn off the heating mat. They are getting forced to fast. We don't know where you live but mine are in a cold greenhouse now. No lights or heat required.

I'd agree with you floral except most of those have no leaves to pinch above, just lots of bare stem. :) I do agree with the get off the heat if they are still on it.

Thank you for your advice. Off the mat and closer light it is! I live in Oregon, zone 8. This is my first attempt and there's certainly a lot to learn! I'll keep trying, tho! Thanks again!1

They are showing pairs of leaves at the top so soon there will be somewhere to pinch.
