i dont feel the need to keep it consistant through out the house but do within the room. if you dont want to paint the sash and window molding you should keep the rest of the trim dark as well.

if it was me, i'd paint the window and all trim white in the bathroom, it would be a breath of fresh air.

How would you handle the two doors that open into the bathroom? If all the bedroom trim is dark along with the doors and window, would you have the doors leading into the bathroom white or stained? I am planning on having white trim in the bathroom.

You can have white trim in the bathroom and bedroom. Many older homes have dark woodwork in the public rooms and white in the bedrooms. Do paint all the trim in the bedroom and bathroom white including the trim around the window. You do not need to paint the door. White trim around wood doors works.

I have this in my bedroom and I kept the doors to the bathroom and closet wood. However, I think white would also be OK.

Thank you for all of the pictures and advice. It has been helpful looking at examples and hearing what others have done. I think I will keep it dark in my room, but transition to white in the bathroom since it all light.
