We could use some landscaping expertise! We have several problems behind our house that we need to solve for. We are open to suggestions!
Problem #1: There is very little sunlight back here and the deck stays pretty damp. It came painted when we bought the house 7 years ago. We have painted it 3 times since and you can see how that has worked for us.
Problem #2: The main floor space for the table and chairs is too small.
Problem #3: The best place for the grill is right by the door (to the kitchen) but it's too tight. I'd like to keep easy access to the grill (without having to go down stairs).
My thought is to do some back filling and make a cement patio where the current floor space is now. The ground slopes up from one side of the current deck to the other side. I think it would solve problem 1 & 2. We are not sure what to do. I hesitate putting another wood deck on because I don't want it to end up looking like it currently does in a few years. Any advice would be appreciated!
