That's a seed pod growing on it.

That definitely is a seed pod. Would not prune unless you do not want the seeds. Can do a pruning afterwards. Tie, loosely a fine wire spiraled around each horn of pod or a fine origami bag, when pod starts to turn a light Biege color. Seeds will fly away if not watching.

Thanks for the info. When the pods mature, I will try using some of my wife's disgarded nylons and rig something up to catch the seeds.

My pods took about 3+ months to mature. And it didnt give much warning when it opened. Was very much a surprise when I came home from work one day to find it had opened. I had them tied up for about a month before opening cause it was my first pod too and I didn't know how long it would take. I used twist ties on mine, worked fine too.

Once he pods start to turn colro they will open. You can place a plastic bag (loose) around the pod so the seeds to not fly off. Do not crop/prune the plant until the seed pod has opened or the seeds will not nature. Keep the plant in full sunlight too.
