marble look alike countertops with real marble backsplash?

Hi,

I have creamy white perimeter cabinets, dark grey island, all with Caesarstone Frosty Carrina countertops.

Will it look weird with real marble backsplash? I'm look at something very similar to calcutta gold subway tiles. I'm wonder if marble look alike countertops go with the real thing. (2 x 4 tile size)

IGNORE that backsplash sample in the last pic. I'm not going with it. It actually looks too dark in real life. Also, it's not marble, that's porcelain (I may use it for a bathroom one day though)

First pic is very similar to the marble tile I'm looking at.

So I went with a marble backsplash (with grey and brown viens) to go with Frosty Carrina quartz Caesarstone countertop. Island cabinets are slate grey.

my carrara mantels in my house are indistinguishable from my LG rococo quartz countertops, so i'd say they CAN go together, whether yours do or not will depends on the amounts of grey or cream in your counters and in the marble you are considering.

That will look great. We've really been pushing the white quartz + marble backsplash look lately. It's a great way to get that fresh, classic white look without having to take care of marble counters. I love your floors by the way. Looks like a gorgeous project. Post photos when you are done!

Just curious to see what you've decided on? We are using a white quartz countertop (Cosmos venato) and decided on a Statuary marble herringbone backsplash. Our home is still being built so we have seem them in person yet!

We've done this combo (quartz on the counter, marble on the walls) plenty. It's a great look!

Honestly, I think it makes the fake look more fake. I do like plain white quartz counters with marble but would not mix real stone with a faux marble quartz.

I guess the problem there is that all quartz is man-made, and quartzite doesn't come in a plain white variety. And quartzite, while more durable than marble, is still not nearly as durable as quartz.

I agree with leemiller--if you want to use a real marble backsplash, then use a plain quartz countertop. Using a faux marble with real marble is NOT going to fool anyone who really knows stone, and the contrast of the real and fake will make the fake look worse.

Replace the dark entry cave with a glass-enclosed porch. At the moment, there's nothing to draw you in.

Taller stands and taller lamps are needed, but the combination of the wood with the hammered metal is very good.

You need taller night tables/chests and taller lamps. The wood tone, in combination with the hammered metal, is very attractive. Look for a similar combination in the taller items.

You'll definitely need tables, as there's currently no place to set anything down. Lamps will also help.

Night stands and lamps need to be taller. Lined drapes would be a big help.

Yes you can use the marble with the Frosty Carina. It will look lovely. I have Frosty Carina and searched Houzz for backsplashes with that surface and nearly all the ones I found had marble backsplashes. They looked beautiful!!!! Do a search for Frosty Carina on Houzz and see what comes up. I think you'll lime what you see. Frosty Carina does not have the "fake" marble lines like other quartz countertops do, so you're safe.

I recommended that you choose the white Carrara marble. My friend installed a white Carrara backsplash and it looks awesome. She used a contractor, Centura Tile.

Looks amazing! Outstanding:) May I ask...did you use a honed or polished marble backsplash?...special sealer?...any problems with stains so far?

Thank you, we are very happy with the kitchen :) we have polished marble. I added a sealer (NOT stone enhancer, as that will change the colour) so far maintenance has been very easy. But I always immediately wipe down the backsplash areas that get wet behind the sink and by the stove after cooking. It's been a year and looks as good as new.
