Having some discussions with my husband on our new plans for our flat. Just wondering what anyone else thinks.. might be hard to see from the pictures as its all in plan stages, so no real pictures.

The area is around 10metres long/ 3 meters wide.

Just looking for some thoughts on 2 options for the placement of the kitchen :-

a) a long kitchen going the length of kitchen/dinning area as pictured or

b) a Galley kitchen in the centre of the space leaving a more defined dining area at the end by the picture window.

My husband has spent a lot of time planning the new layout of our living/dining/kitchen in our two bedroom flat and is adamant on the layout he's planned is the better option. I'm almost certain this is the way we will go, but thought I might get some feedback to make me feel better about it, I still have time to change his mind but I need to be sure I'm right ;-). His reason is that the space will be more versatile as we can move our dining table to centre of the space, or have it at the end in front of window, or have some comfy chairs in from of the picture window as well as dining table in the centre.

My concern is the space is too narrow to do this, and the kitchen will seem imposing, as its 2/3rds of the space/

He thinks having a galley kitchen in the middle of the plans on both sides would make the space look narrow and hinder a view to the end through to the picture window. We also have a toddler who would benefit from the extra floor space.

We will have a big picture window with a seat at the back of the layout looking out into the garden, and bifold doors opening out to the side.

In Section A we have a large Victorian bay window which we wanted to keep, this is why we are having our sitting area/TV area, with the TV on the same wall as the kitchen. There is a bit of wall which will start the section of the kitchen, so when you are sitting in living area you would not see the start of the kitchen. We also spend more time currently in the kitchen so need a big kitchen, and prefer the dinning area to look out to the garden.
