What flooring is in the guest room?

Pale gray-blues or gray-greens would look wonderful with the warm wood tones.

Or you could choose an elegant monochromatic scheme in various warm shades of cream, caramel and rust, with interest through different textures.

Lucky you! That furniture is gorgeous! I agree with miacometlady that an accent piece would really help you decide how much art deco you want and how to build the room. Is the mirror built in to the dresser?

How lucky are you! It's a magnificent set! Why are you replacing the handles? Find a great Art Deco print you like. Look up Erte and Mucha. Lots of bold and geometric images.

Then pull your colors from there. This screams for crystal lamps.

Think 1930's glam bedrooms.

Thanks for the info! One repeating pattern I see with Art Deco is the use of a seashell shape pattern in design (kind of like a fan with curved sides- links not working). Also a lot of silver/chrome, black, gold, and vibrant colors. Generally think strong graphic lines (Chrysler Building is typical example of Art Deco). When I was looking up Art Deco, I also saw Art Nouveau items, which have more fluid lines. Erte is good for Art Deco art, though I think of Mucha more of Art Nouveau.

I would take one of the drawers to the paint store and get chips for any color that you think might work.

You may be surprised at what colors are going to make the best background for all those lovely wood tones.

As for mood, it looks like something Nick and Nora might have in their elegant apartment.
