Not a mid grade line. High builder grade. They don't grade out their wood well, and use some cheaper woods to faux more expensive looks. Epoxy glides and plywood drawers are standard and you have to upgrade your way out of that, which no mid grade line makes you do. Their Express line uses veneered raised panel doors instead of solid. Not a fan of that "budget saver" at all. If you're looking at that level of cabinets, American Woodmark/Shenendoah/Waypoint offers better specs. You still have some of the same issues at that level, but it's a better product.

What happened with the cabinets that you had already ordered?

We canceled that order a few days after we made it because we found a contractor who would do the work within our budget and we won't have to assemble the cabinets ourselves. There were lots of things to take into consideration and we really didn't want the DIY after all. We are getting up in age and DIY was the only way we ever did anything --- besides, I want my husband to build a (state of the art) chicken house right now so we can get our chicks.

BTW, the Koch cabs we are looking at are well-built and the panel doors are solid rustic beech. My husband is a woodworker - has made much of our furniture so if he says they are well made, that's good enough for me. Maybe what we are looking at are upgrades though.

Read the specs. I would only choose the top of the line version in them, with all of the upgrades. At that point, there are better values. Not to mention much better finishes available.

Koch cabinets are the poorest quality Ive seen.
