I am growing citrus and use 511 mix. Agway carries pine bark mulch and can get Reptile bark at Pet Smart,need the small size. Perilte is available at Raritan Agway. Good luck. I have found it challenging to grow citrus here,but have gotten some Meyer Lemons to fruit.

Thanks for the tips. Don't know of an Agway up north, but maybe on my way down the shore I can stop at one. I already have the reptile bark. When you mixed it up, did you soak it before you used it?

Yes, soak the medium down and check the drainage of the pot you have selected which will depend on citrus size. It should be good draining mix. If the soil does not drain adequately the citrus will not survive.

I have had to add additional holes punched into bottom of pot with drill. Good luck
